Welcome to the e-alkitab in the Amarasi language!
Copyright ©2007 Unit Bahasa dan Budaya, GMIT (UBB-GMIT), is protected by law. This Amarasi e-alkitab has been produced in cooperation with The Seed Company, USA and Wycliffe Bible Translators International, (Australian branch).
If you would like to reproduce more than one chapter of the Amarasi Scriptures, to be used more widely than for a single congregation, a single prayer group, or a single Bible Study group, please contact UBB-GMIT at firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain written permission.
The Scriptures in the Amarasi language have been produced in cooperation with international agencies, have gone through a formal and detailed process. These Scriptures in the Amarasi language are recognised internationally as the Word of God in the Amarasi language. Because the Bible belongs to all churches, in this effort GMIT has taken the initiative to spearhead the translation for the sake of serving all denominations.
The Amarasi Scriptures in book form may be found in bookstores around Kupang. Or contact the Language and Culture Unit at the Synod office of GMIT.
The Amarasi New Testament was translated from the original Greek text, rather than from the Indonesian Bible. In accord with Bible translation principles widely recognised by Bible agencies in the modern era, these Amarasi Scriptures have followed the principles of meaning-based translation, rather than form-based translation which tends to sacrifice understanding and can corrupt the meaning of the original. By following the principles of meaning-based translation, the Amarasi Scriptures carefully preserve the meaning of the original Greek text, and render it in everyday Amarasi language that is both clear and natural. (See the Introduction in the Amarasi Scriptures in book form for more complete information.)
